You need sheep dogs to herd sheep. You need cow dogs to herd cows. But you don’t need corn dogs to herd corn. That’s why they end up on a stick.

The smartest dogs are Border Collies. I read of one who learned to respond to a hundred different words. Seeing them tend sheep is a treat.
