This is completely irrelevant at this point. The democratic party needs to focus on the future, not the past. Keeping the Hillary Clinton campaign in the news simply feeds trump’s insanity. He needs an enemy, so why can’t we simply deny him that malevolent need. She lost, and it’s well past time to move on.
However Bernie Sanders labels himself, he was never part of the Democratic Party. Political parties are private organizations. If you don’t either work within the organization, or have enough influence to sway the organization—crying foul may be true, but it’s irrelevant at this late date.
The republicans nominated trump because he won their primaries—despite massive resistance from the party establishment. The pathetic mentally ill trump has proven the craven republicans are capable of anything except doing what’s right.
Reality, folks. Face the facts and deal with them as facts. Unless the country votes overwhelmingly Democratic in 2018, you can expect the amorality, conflicts of interest, actual treason, widening wealth inequality, worse environmental standards, more racial conflict, increased divisiveness, worsening healthcare, bigger fiscal deficits, and a whole slew of other regressive politics to triumph.
Do not let some (perfectly understandable, laudable, in fact) sense of the “best” become the enemy of the simply “better.” We voters need to stand up as a nation and do the right thing to promote true American aspirational values. Better is what we need right now.
