Well, Cuomo basically brought it on himself. He might as well paint white stripes on his back and hop along, change his New-York-ese accent to French-Charles Boyer. (“Come with me to the casbah …”) It’s truly a shame.
Let me see…. You supported and defended a guy accused of multiple rapes, a guy who bragged about grabbing women by their genitalia. And now you get moral? No Republican has any right to say anything about any Democrat’s sexual misconduct ever again. That is not a defense of Cuomo, just a condemnation of the hypocritical likes of Kelley.
I know very little about the Cuomo allegations, but they seem to be coming in hard and fast. I don’t expect them to go away and, as Cuomo is a Democrat, he’ll likely suffer consequences.
As a child (and after) I certainly laughed my share at Pepe le Pew, but it’s unquestionable that the character is a sexual predator, and such cartoons could not be produced today. It’s only a wonder he wasn’t “cancelled” years ago.
Given the timing, juxtaposition of the two is inevitable (Kelley is far from the only cartoonist to have done so), but if anything it’s low-hanging fruit.
I believe that the extreme right has used Pepe Le Pew as a figurehead in their attacks on the United States Democracy. SKELLEY may know this, but he is nothing if not dishonest.
I’m in my mid sixties and watched Pepe quite a bit when I was young. What I learned from him was how not to romance women. Some people apparently failed to learn those lessons.
Why do so many commentators find ways to make Cuomo out as a saint, and do so most often by pointing fingers at the misadventures of others? No matter if it is Trump, Cuomo, or Pepe, it is wrong and should be punished — most effectively by canceling them from today’s conversation. No need to try to rewrite or correct history. Punish those bullish predators who seemingly cannot be touched legally by first ignoring them in the press.

When you got nothing, always look for a convenient squirrel, or skunk as it may be.

I declare a national day of support for the cartoons, new and old. We have to speak only in cartoon quotes, or very close approximations thereof.
Heavens to Murgatroyd, do you think we can do it?

I don’t get it. Another company makes a commercial decision and everyone gets up in arms?
