We were just invited to a neighborhood ice cream “social” last night by some neighbors on the other side of the block. I’d never met them before (we’ve only lived here for 20 years), but I knew about them. When our son was going to school, he and friends would wait for the school bus on a corner by their vacant lot (which abuts their home). They routinely yelled at the kids for going onto their vacant lot to retrieve balls, Frisbees, etc. Maybe they’re trying to make amends?
