    Squirrels are clever little acrobatic creatures. When other food sources are scarce, bird feeders are irresistible to them. In his later years, my father tried various means to keep squirrels away. It was like an ongoing cold war between them, each skirmish an episode in “Dad vs. Squirrel.” But I think they both actually enjoyed it.

    Looks like our backyard. If you put out food for everyone the squirrels wont bother with the bird feeders.

    With the rising cost of black oil seed, I’ll just feed them in the winter….Before the pandemic, it was $18.00 for 50#. I needed seed during the pandemic and it was $25.00…..NOW it’s $33.00 !

    Sorry, Miss White. We’re only 2 1/2 feet tall, so the bird feeder has to be low so we can fill it up. Makes it way too easy for all the other animals to reach, but them’s the breaks.
