    Why is it that we can have smart bombs and dumb politicians?

    Don’t get me wrong. I think it is a good thing that we only have to drop one bomb to destroy a building rather than carpet bomb a whole city and still miss the target.

    However, I quote Robert E. Lee, “It is well that war is so terrible, lest we grow fond of it.” Has smart weaponry removed the terror of war? Maybe it has for the side that has such weapons. When an act of war becomes easier than a video game, war becomes too easy an option and can only be held in check by the morality of the people making the decision.
