It is far harder to kill a phantom than a reality.

Then there’s social media that can kill a dream.

I enjoyed the Phantom when it was in whatever newspaper I was reading, but it drove me nuts when he’d be in “civilian” disguise and he’d say his name is “Mr Walker*” and there was always the footnote…

    For “Ghost Who Walks”

I think that Little Orphan Annie was the first comic character with no eyeballs (Started in 1924!)

Lee Falk’s Phantom was immensely popular across the world, and had a wide range of readers across the world numbering 100,000,000 readers a day – one hundred million readers a day! In India, Lee Falk’s Phantom (drawn by Sy Barry) and Mandrake comics were more popular than Superman or Batman, till the early 90’s. Lee Falk was a master of adventure comic strip writing. Sadly, The Phantom comic strip these days is complete rubbish and a disgrace to Lee Falk’s legacy and canons.
