Ok, I’m outta the loop here, but what is this? A run with colors (there has got to be some great puns in there!) at the finish line for charity? Kinda cool, I think.

Interesting timing. I was grabbing lunch at the local McDonald’s in Richmond yesterday and I saw someone who looked like this. Had me totally confused. Still haven’t figured it out.

I found this showing the annual(?) Color Me Chattanooga, non-competitive 5K charity event in Chattanooga, TN. Not sure if this is specifically for that, or for something it may have spawned elsewhere (fullscreen is active).

Color Runs are a newly popular 5K charity event that happens all over. Spectators buy color bags to throw at the runners. Although the one here in Vegas has decided to skip the run this year, and just have everyone throw color at each other.

We had one in Kansas City recently. Tank, of course, was one of those wide-body offensive linemen (not ORIGINALLY defensive, as long-time fans know), so even if he weren’t a celebrity he would block plenty of colors……..

Probably came from the (Asian) Indian festival of Holi. Check it out. I first heard of it on a PBS series about India.

Color runs, along with zombie runs (you get chased by zombies) and mud runs have become popular with runners who aren’t interested in ‘serious’ marathons. Some of them are for charity, but in some places they’ve become a business where participants pay to play. The day after a local color run, I saw a young woman who still had blotches of dye on her back. I guess the stuff doesn’t come out that easily, so good luck with the post-race shower, Tank.

How does breathing the stuff not kill you?
