There isn’t a back story, really. Mom and Dad are simply characters thrown in as needed. Mom’s been shown a few times previously, but I believe the last few weeks may be the first presentation of Tank’s father.
In situations like this … you have one of two choices either keep your mouth shut and let them snipe at each other or change the subject to something safe. Tank – choose carefully.
