Right now, I’m willing for them to lose a whole season much like the NHL did several years ago. NOBODY makes any money and Minor League baseball will thrive like never before.

I mean, you gotta feel for Juan. The government would take like 40-50% of that.

With no fans, it would be pretty short…

The thing Baseball should be careful of is the generational disconnect – I see it playing out at my work place. Is it past the point of no return?

Sure there are a lot of dollars but why begrudge the atheletes for getting their share? They are the show.

I hope that MLB owners have saved those cardboard cutouts of fans that they put in their stands during the Covid-19 restrictions. The way they’re going, that’ll be the bulk of the attendance, as older baseball fans die off and younger people realize they have better ways to waste their money than paying the exorbitant MLB ticket and concession prices for an over-priced, over-rated, and often boring show.

You have to figure in this inflation we’re having. That will make $500M worth only around $350M if it keeps up. Who can live on that? He’d have to sell 3 or 4 mansions

Yup, I haven’t watched Baseball or checked the standings since Don Mattingly retired. They are over paid and it’s so boring

Get rid of the “extra inning man on 2nd” nonsense. That’s close to a “fixed” ballgame. If a team can’t score until the 18th inning, that’s t heir lookout.

The league will just raise the cost of broadcast, raising the cost of advertising, raising the cost of everything to everyone, baseball fan or not

As a lifelong fan, I left in disgust in 1990. Gradually was drawn back in, but now I am out for good. So tired of spoiled rich men (owners and players) fighting over pieces of ridiculously enormous pies. Prices of spring training tickets are obscene, let alone regular season games. Yes, whatever the market will bear, I get it. It’s not just the money; it’s the absolute disrespect for the game and fans. I have always found bobble head giveaways to be highly ironic.

MEANWHILE, Minor league baseball season is on schedule to open their season on time. MLB can be locked out for the entire 2022 season. The Minor Leagues are still playing. Its much cheaper and lots more fun than MLB

Baseball owners and, to an extent the players (as well as a certain agent) seem h*** bent on destroying baseball. Slowly driving it to be a niche sport, and that’s a shame. It was, for nearly a century, truly America’s Game. Now, it’s not. It started to decline in the 80’s due to the strike/lockout and has been on a downward spiral since then. Another prolonged “stoppage” would alienate what’s left of the fans. When some of us were younger, we remember World Series games starting in the afternoon and would either smuggle in a transistor radio, or race home to watch on TV. No one in the hierarchy of baseball seems to understand that the game needs people that truly care about the game. #ManfredOut!
