Back when I was working(1980-1998) there were enough Detroit Tigers fans in the shop that the radio was always tuned to the local AM station on the nights their games were being played. While I have never cared about MLB, I did enjoy listening to the radio team of Ernie Harwell and Paul Carey

Ad revenue must be down to, can’t as easily sneak those little ones in between pitches. Plus is less filler yakking.

Vin Scully would have had no trouble. He could have woven the entire text of Moby Dick into the announcing of a 9 inning game without missing a beat.
