This is like hockey, on many levels. From Junior to the NHL, certain officials are starting to make the game about them. The same for baseball.

It couldn’t be “barely noticeable” is the ref noticed it. And if they noticed it, the defender(s) did to and tried to adjust – which does affect the play.

Is it an illegal shift to go from first to third gear while not using second? Just tach on 500 RPMs as a penalty.

It does seem to me that football has a lot of rules that keep the scoring down. Things like shifts or blockers being downfield too soon, picks, etc.

Well if you think we made a mistake on this one, we can go and throw one for PI on the next possesion, then if someones upset about that we can follow it up with a roughing the passer, and if it gets too much, and you guys need a break or coffee, well find something to replay….
