You are aware (I hope) that this strip was written – and drawn – in 1963. The strip was and remained for all of its run an action strip. “Family Values” didn’t enter into it too much. Tarzan & Jane had a son in the books but remember that most of the time the writers of the daily strips didn’t even acknowledge the existence of Jane. As for “fiscal responsibility,” between his estates in Kenya and his lands in England, plus the occasional treasure from a lost city, Tarzan is definitely one of the 1% rather than the 47%.
