Whenever right-wingers decide to get personal, they inevitably spit out the same old retort: If you really care so much about the poor, why don't you give them all your money? Simple logic results in any number of possible responses: Giving every poor person 1/43rd of a cent wouldn't do them much good. Redistribution of wealth isn't meaningful on an individual level. Poor people need monied advocates. But tit-for-tat is much more fun. So: if conservatives care so much about rich people, why don't they give them all their money? If they care so much about corporations, why don't they let them dump toxic waste on their lawns? Despite earning $100,000 a year, I'm homeless! But it's worth it to cut the capital gains tax! And if that doesn't work, lefties always have that old standby: Don't like it? Go back to Russia!
