September 11, 2001: Terrorists hit America and you are there! 8:48 A.M. EDT: The first plane hits the World Trade Center. Most Americans are asleep. Within a few hours. News of the attacks has spread. Most Americans don't know anyone killed in the attacks. By evening, people are glued to their television sets. Secretly, they think the world trade center is cool. When Bush addresses congress, the nation hangs on his every world. They want to respect him, but they know deep down: he's dim. Soon the countryside is festooned with American flags. Inexplicably, this and bombing makes people feel better.
