Should we stop the slaughter in Sudan? Q: Does Sudan have oil or gas? (Man: They have very little oil- less than 1/200th of Iraq's proven reserves- and a bit of natural gas. But gas prices are depressed.) A: Not much. Q. Is Sudan a possible pipeline route? (Man: There was a plan for a pipeline from Khartoum to Eritrea and Ethiopia. But in 2003 Sudan accused Eritrea of supporting anti-government forces in Sudan. So it probably won't happen.) A: No. Q: Is Sudan adjacent to key oil tanker shipping lanes? (Man: Almost 3,000 oil tankers pass through the Suez Canal each year. However, the Red Sea is at least 100 miles wide along the Sudanese Coast, minimizing the possible threat to shipping.) A: Not really. Q: Will we selflessly and without profit incentive risk the lives of our soldiers and billions of dollars to liberate Sudan? (Bush: Liberate... selfless... ah, that's rich!) (Man 2: That's the problem- they're not!)
