The Video Game "budget hero" lets players make pretend cuts and tax hikes to virtually balance the federal budget. (Woman: I've killed NPR but the deficit keeps growing!) It was supposed to be fun. Then Republican gamers threatened to infect the global internet with a virus that would destroy every computer on earth. (Man: Once you allow imaginary tax increases, taxes on real billionaires are a matter of time.) Without taxation mode, Democrats complain, the game cannot be won. (Man: You're not praying hard enough, secular scum!) Meanwhile, outside the matrix, life goes on the same as always. (Woman 2: No electricity 'puter no work.) (Man: Let's sell it for cigarettes.)
