There are some neat tutorials on YouTube, if you focus on one or to important Photoshop areas, MayKitten….. The main thing is to cultivate the vitality of the students’ creative impulse, so it almost seems like a grounding in the great old basics of form, line, perspective, shading – all that boring, indispensable stuff that I wish I had learned better while I was still young enough to retain anything other than orange pekoe – is truly the kindest foundation you could give them…. One day the worldwide web could come to a grinding halt, and those who can draw by hand or practice cursive handwriting will rule the day!
Ruth, love the pics yesterday. We did not take Yum-Yum with us because my sister-in-law was there with her year old shepherd-lab cross and she is still in puppy mode. Other reason is that she hates her cat carrier and my mother-in-law who was driving us up did not want 5 hours in a car with a screeching Siamese (truthfully, neither did I). When my daughter moves back to Barrie at the end of the year, she has promised that we will take her on short trips in her carrier to help acclimatize her.
This strip reminds me of Garfield [and my cat as well] and his frequent nap attacks. Love all the pictures today [and every day] Can I have all the cats shown?
The comments and pics today are some of the BEST. There is a lovely feeling I get when a cat falls asleep on me. Graham is a true cat aficionado….he knows cat idiosyncrasies and makes great strips for us about them. Let’s feature Woof and Lily more, Graham!!!!
Late reading today. It was a PetCo day for me – lots of lookers but just one adoption. A young man we have known for at least 6 yrs adopted 2 sisters. We were thrilled. Several people asked me to send them pics of my current fosters. A few showed interest in some adults. We’ll see if they return tomorrow or Sunday.

While not a classroom teaching book, I never tire of relaxing with “Mutts The Comic Art of Patrick McDonnell”.

MayKitten, I honestly can’t think of any books, as my drawing would make a cat laugh and I have all the artistic talent of a dead flea.
