The drive over to San Diego yesterday was easy – until we hit I-9 in Mission Valley. It’s a good thing I was unarmed.
Traffic on the base was as expected. Had dinner on the water behind the convention center with friends. Will have lunch with different friends, then dinner at another friends; house. I can’ wait to meet her new family members – 2 ragdoll kittens. Calvin and Hobbes. First they got Calvin and thought all week about leaving his brother behind. Then they went back and got Hobbes.
Speaking of Ragdolls – does anyone know much about this breed? Calving is having poop issues. She has had him at the vet several times trying meds. She’s tried different foods..
One of the many perks of living in a small town – I went to an early morning holiday craft show yesterday and ran in to our local animal control/sheriff as she was leaving. I told her about Wilson and she followed me home (all of 4 blocks) and came in to give him the shots in his own comfortable surroundings. No traumatic car ride to a strange vet office, he simply went to sleep on the dining room table in the sun. I buried him in my yard next to Momma Kitty and Annie Dog.
Heartbreaking poem, but so true! I have so many waiting for me in the meadow by the rainbow bridge… Wilson is buried next to Mama Kitty, the only one he really liked. Had to really scrounge the neighborhood for flowers, but all 3 graves are decorated today.
Yes, Eldo, I meant I-8. It was dark in here while I was typing (like it is now) and my lighted keyboard is at home.
I met Calvin and Hobbes, the ragdolls, today. Very sweet kitties. I also met Cleo, who lost her BFF, Winston, in April. She is a big grey kitty just like my Moose. She seems sad that Winston is gone. My friend said Cleo won’t usually let people pet or hold her. WRONG. I’m her new BFF.
