I’ll award first place for that!

I have a question – I would like to know how one goes about setting up a gofundme page. We have been looking into how much money there will be for our sister Martha’s funeral when that time comes. Her short-sighted, unmotivated husband has not put forth any effort to make sure she gets a proper burial. With the funds they have, they MIGHT be able to afford cremation, but that is not what Martha really wants. We know her time left is short. She’s unable to eat without throwing up. She can’t even keep down nutritional drinks. She barely sips water. I’m not sure how much money we still need to raise in order to get a cemetery plot and all the other expenses. Also, in the unlikely event we raised more money than we need for her funeral expenses, I want to know how we can make sure the extra money does NOT go to her unmotivated husband, who should have been setting money aside for this 3 years ago when she was first diagnosed. The extra money has to go to something else – maybe her church, but better yet, to The American Cancer Society or something so we can try to help end cancer. I know Happyx3 here used gofundme to help pay for his van. How do we do this? Thanks for any help you can give us.

I don’t know anything about gofundme, but a local church or cancer society should be able to help. Funerals are hugely expensive. Terrible to have to worry about money during this sad time.

Laughingkitty, check with the local branch of the cancer society. They may be able to help. I’m not sure how funerals are organized in the States.

On December 20, 2015, my brother was rushed to the hospital with a ruptured colon. He has been out of work ever since. He nearly died during two long emergency operations. In May, he had his fourth and hopefully, last operation. I have been nursing him back from pneumonia (why did they send him home with that???), depression, and many other problems. Now, he is beginning to realize that he is in the best health of his life. Now on to living my life….
