Hey you cats, just because Oliver fit down the chimney doesn’t mean Santa would. Santa’s a lot bigger and fatter than Oliver is. On the other hand, we all know Santa uses magic to get down skinny chimneys.
Woo hoo! I DID win a prize in our Walmart games! I did all of the puzzles – the word searches, the crossword puzzle, the maze and the 2 trivia tests. We put all our puzzles into a box for the drawing. Everyone is allowed only one prize and there were 20 prizes in all. I witnessed Trixi drawing some names (and I drew a few names myself). If a name was drawn of someone who already won a prize, another name was drawn. Several people had their names drawn 2 or 3 times. But for the 20 random prizes, my name was the 19th one drawn (not counting all the “repeats”). Whew! I won a thing of Hershey’s Kisses. And the puzzle game that won it for me was the very trivia quiz which you all helped me with. So thank you all for helping me win a prize.
There was another contest to guess the number of M&M’s in a jar – only one guess to a person. The winner gets the jar and the M&M’s and the "secret surprise) that is buried in the M&M’s. I made a guess at that, but I was so far off, I won’t even embarrass myself by saying how bad my guess was. But when I guessed, a number popped into my head and I wrote the number down and put it in the box with the other guesses and right away, I wanted to pull that piece of paper out of the box and guess a higher number. But still, I don’t think my guess would have even come close to the 987 or whatever it was (I know it was close to 1000).
Time for bed. I have to get up early for work. We close early tomorrow (6:00 PM). Target is staying open until 10:00.
I wasn’t going to look back at yesterday’s comments because I have to get up in 6 hours, but I looked anyway.So, in response to marilynnbyerly from yesterday – We have 2 things in common – some German ancestry (my mother’s side of the family was from Germany a few generations ago. Grandma was a German Baptist). Also a dislike for the TV show Seinfield. I never could stand that show.
Merry Christmas everyone, I am flying home to Maine this AM. Was here in Cincinnati, for best friend’s funeral. We were besties for 62 years. I also turned 80 on the 21st. I’m hoping 2020 is a better year for us all around.
Jessegooddog – the vet told Melody this cancer isn’t painful. It just makes it hard for him to breathe sometimes and he gave her something for that. She won’t let him suffer.
Merry Christmas everyone! I’m heading for the snowy prairies to spend some time with my family. There’s a long-haired cat named Lucky there (ear-less and tail-less due to frostbite – long story) and he will help when I’m missing my two fur-kids.
Poor Oliver. :( I hope Santa gives him something nice. On another note, saw some chickadees while out walking today. Didn’t see a partridge in a pear tree, though. Merry Christmas . :)
