I saw where somebody in my town posted in the local FB site that he would do other people’s shopping for a $50 fee. There would be an additional fee if he had to go to more than one store. Deeming himself a “personal shopper”, he felt the fee was fair and justified. Right after that, 3 or 4 other people posted that they would shop and deliver groceries, etc and they would not charge anything. It’s good knowing people that that live in my hometown.
National Scrapbook Day. My sister, Mary, used to do a LOT of scapbooking. I don’t know if she still does as much.
National Fitness Day. Gee, it’s my day off and I sort of planned to loaf around a lot in my lawn swing, catching up on some reading. It’s supposed to be a beautiful day. The most physically strenuous thing I thought about doing would be yanking some weeds from my strawberry bed.
National Bombshell’s Day
Free Comic Book Day
National Homebrew Day.
National Truffle Day
Join Hands Day. That’s a no-no these days.
National Life Insurance Day
National Start Seeing Monarchs Day. I sure wish we’d see lots more of those beautiful butterflies.
To ladycat from yesterday’s comments. Your comment here got me to look at BCN for the comment you posted there yesterday. I want to add all my best wishes to you and Paul in this difficult time. I would also choose quality of life over quantity. It’s why we sometimes euthanize our beloved pets – we’d like them to be with us as long as possible, but if they’re suffering and have no quality of life, the kind thing to do is give them a peaceful exit. Cancer treatments can make people so sick, they’d rather die than go through it. So make the most of the time you have together. Go to the cabin and make happy memories. It’s better to have those happy memories for fewer months than to remember only pain and suffering and hospital visits for a few extra months. {{{{{ladycat & Paul}}}}}
There’s something weird going on with my Microsoft Solitaire Collection which I normally play every night. I had a user name (Latest Relic) and everything, but now, the games won’t load. It keeps saying “Signing in” and it never finishes. I was up to level 98 in Klondike! Tonight, it finally let me play as a “guest”, but all the games I already played showed I had not played them And after I played a couple Klondike games, it put me at level 2. TWO! I was ready to hit level 100 soon! And on the other games – FreeCell, Pyramid, Tri-Peaks and Spider, I was around level 65 -69 on those games. Now I’m at zero because I didn’t play those games tonight. I don’t know how (or if) I can get back to being Latest Relic and get my scores back. Oh yeah, I had a real long winning streak on Klondike too, but now that is gone too. I’m seriously bummed!
I truly appreciate people who are willing to shop for others. My daughter has offered to pick up any groceries I need during this Covid-19. I will be so glad when it’s over.
I’ve been checking on my cat sitter each week to see if she needs anything but she’s like me; she stocked up and can go out if she needs to.I made my weekly trip out yesterday. Instead of the recycle bins (Brad too that stuff on Thur) we went Joanns’ and WM.A friend in San Diego said her Joanns has a long line every day. A friend here said she’s been by our a few times and there was a line. Not yesterday. There were maybe 15 people in the store..half of them employees. I went because I need to sort and organize my fabric. It’s a huge mess. Anyway, got my boxes then we went to WM here in town. Mask wearing is 50/50. I’m in the ‘yes’ category. It was odd to see all of the paper products on the shelves but nobody had much in their carts. There was a clerk at the door counting and recording the number of people who went inside.
The place that DID have a line to get in was Home Depot. I thought that was odd.
The local theater opened but with restrictions. The rodeo grounds has scheduled something for next weekend with seating restrictions.
My Food Lion is across from a massive retirement and care facility. Some care workers and volunteers do nothing but come back and forth shopping for the seniors. Good people.
I’m really liking this arc. I like how it focuses on the positive side of things (people helping each other) rather than acting like it’s the end of the world. I don’t know when we’ll get through this, but I think we will get through this. On another note, saw a rabbit and some robins while out walking today.

Could that be Chesney, doing a good deed? He is the only orange cat in this bunch.
Hey Ches, I am out of anchovies! (Seriously). And some Clorox wipes would be handy.

Well the golfers started playing today. The Goose family was seriously inconvenienced. They finally took the babies and set sail on the lake.
They’ve had it good, the greens and fairways all to themselves.
