From yesterday’s comments to JP Steve who said, “Good! But I suspect you meant Edward Lear…” Ooops! My mistake! Yes, it was Edward Lear, not Norman Lear who wrote limericks.
National Dance Like a Chicken Day. I’ve never seen chickens dance.
National Decency Day. That should be every day.
National Underground America Day. “National Underground America Day recognizes the approximately 6,000 people who live in some form of underground architecture across North America. The observance also celebrates the lifestyle, architecture, and benefits of underground living. Subterranean living boasts energy conservation as one of its top advantages. Completely covered homes or earth-sheltered homes are covered on all sides with soil while earth-bermed homes leave one side exposed. Both allow for more stable temperatures within the home and less exposure to the elements. However, living in an underground home also poses some disadvantages. If you like lots of light and throwing open the windows on a summer day, this type of house might not be for you.” DEFINATELY NOT for me! I like to open windows to let in fresh air on pleasant days. I like to let in the sunshine. My cats like looking out windows at birds and squirrels and sleeping in the sunbeams. I couldn’t live in an underground home like a mole or gopher. It’s just not me!
I started planting my garden at my brother’s place yesterday. Five rows of sweet corn (16 foot long rows) and 4 rows of green beans. I plan on planting squash tomorrow. I have tomato plants ready to put in the garden but it’s still too early for that. It’s still a little early for planting watermelons too, but I’ll be doing that in another week or so. I usually plant them around Memorial Day. I have a smaller garden in my back yard (just planters & large flower pots) and I have potatoes coming up in a couple raised bed planters (makes harvest easy) and I have green beans coming up in another raised bed. If I think of it, I’ll post pictures of my raised bed stuff later, after the plants get bigger.
Cats and dog(s) at the same table? Phew that’s a pretty kettle of FISH! So, what’s at STEAK? You should arrange it among yourselves at the BARKing lot. Then your differences will be HISStory!
We have to go shopping for a new dryer today. With the shortages of everything from micro chips to lumber, I’m not looking forward to it. So far, the ones I’ve found online at places like Lowes have delivery dates of May 18 and beyond.
I weighed the kittens yesterday and they’re coming along nicely.
We chose a GE set. Looked at others, looked at several places. We chose this set from The Boulevard Home store for several reasons. They’ll be here Tues. Shopping for appliances is SO not much fun, especially if your current one died.We were lucky that we knew it was coming…just didn’t know when And, I had just finished all of my laundry when I discovered there was no heat in the dryer. It took all day to dry that last load because if was air drying it. It had to be a load of his jeans and tshirts. Heaven forbid it be something light, like my blouses. It would have been faster to just lay it all out on top of the spa and let the heat and sun do it.
I suppose they had to get that out of their systems before ordering. On another note, saw a robin, a rabbit, and a bumblebee while out walking today. Also saw a Steller’s jay outside.

Funny! They dutifully performed their parts, and now can get on to dinner.

Personally, I’m not fond of cat hair in my food, or dog drool on thr tablecloth.

Back in the day [pre pandemic], I have been seated with strangers in both Boston and New Orleans.
Political views can be a bit unsettling.
