I gave up on that train trip to Denver. After two days of trying to work out logistics of getting to the train station in SLC, wondering where we would leave the truck, then getting a rental in Denver when we arrive and returning it a week later, and so many other things, I just scrapped that trip. Then I thought we could drive to San Diego, LA or even Oxnard and take the coastal train up to Seattle. Again, the same issues. Just getting to any train station would be 6 to 8 hours, add two over night stays because the train leaves at 3:30 AM, the worrying about Covid in CA, I scrapped that, too.Brad suggested we drive to Durango- it’s only 8 hours. That sounded reasonable so that’s what we’ll do in late Oct.I need to book the train up into Silverton and this time, we are NOT sitting in the last, open car. I’m going for the first class car.
