I can SOMEWHAT handle all 3 kittens. Meaning, I can grab them and pet them without getting bitten. They all still hiss at me a lot and they really don’t like it when I try looking under their tails to be sure I identified their genders correctly. Since my gray kitten looks so much like mom, Annie, I was considering a name that sounds similar, like Mandy (assuming I did not mis-identify her gender like I did with my Molly). If she turns out to be a he, I’ll go with Oliver. If it’s a girl, I could call her Olive, except when I think of Olive, I think of Popeye’s ugly girlfriend in the cartoons. And this kitten is not ugly. The other, being a tortoise shell, I know for sure is a girl. I’ve been considering the name Kayla for her (named after a character in my book). Or, I could call her Flame, after my brother Daniel’s tortoise shell cat. His Flame has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
I better go to bed and try to get some sleep. I have to get up in about 4 hours to give Annie another dose of her sedative (powder from a capsule blended with just a wee dab of canned cat food) and I have to be up for real in less than 6 hours to take Annie to the vet. Getting her in a cat carrier won’t be a problem. I have one in her crate and she pretty much stays in there except to eat or use the litter box.
Dang! I left work early yesterday so I could get home as soon after 6:00 as I could so I could take food away from Annie. But before leaving Walmart, I had a few purchases I wanted to make. Holy cow! I was blown away when I saw how much I had spent! Prices on some of these things are crazy high! Well, one thing I bought was Klondike ice cream bars. When I got home and wanted to eat one, I discovered I had left them behind. I discovered a few other things I’m missing too. But it was that darn cashier! She’s a nice person and I like her fine, but she kept jabbering at me, asking me questions and I was in a hurry and just wanted to get away from her and get home. So, I left a whole bag of stuff behind. I called the store to let them know I had left my Klondike bars behind (I had not yet discovered I had at least4 other things missing, too). I talked to Barb, who promised tp set things right next time I come in. That will be Tuesday.

No injuries that I know of, one campground was flooded and people were stranded but helped out. Others were stranded at 3 local trailheads where the roads out were covered in mud and boulders, and some of those higher campgrounds situated next to creeks may have also flooded. Good possibility of more rain this afternoon, and some monsoon moisture through next weekend.

At first I though that Jack Jack was supposed to be a tuxedo cat, but then I realized it’s possible he would disguise himself to evade the law. I’ve never seen an episode of the fugitive (yet) but I have read the Mad parody (“the Phewgitive”) in a book called Mad about the Sixties. On another note, saw four robins, four rabbits, a dragonfly, and a butterfly while out walking today.
