Well it DID snow., but it didn’t count ‘cause it didn’t hit the ground. I was looking forward to the change in scenery. Our local mountains got a lot. We need the water here. California was stingy and only sent us a teeny amount from the storms last week. Vegas Valley is okay, we’re sitting atop an enormous aquafir, but Cali and Arizona have really drained Lake Mead. At least they are still finding bodies out there. Probably Mafia hits from the 60s and 70s.

My Annie has been teasing me a lot lately. When I’m getting dressed in the morning, she likes to come in my bedroom and rub against the door and roll around on the floor like she’s inviting me to pet her. She will come close up to me – less than a foot away from me, so I just have to reach for her to try to pet her. She does this when I’m in the bathroom too. I actually have been able to touch her a few times. Not actually petting her – just a quick touch on her back and then she moves away. But she doesn’t move far before she drops and rolls around on the floor again. She seems to enjoy teasing me that way. She hasn’t hissed at me in quite a while. I don’t remember how long it has been since she has hissed at me. But maybe, just maybe, I’m getting near the point where she will allow me to actually pet her.

Panther teases me a little too, coming up close to me but not allowing me to touch her. Now and then, she doesn’t move away fast enough and I get to barely touch her, but that doesn’t happen often. I hope I’m making progress with her too.

The newest cat, CeeCee is settled in now and seems to love when my brother, Mark, stops by. Her previous owners were men (her original owner and the person that owner dumped her on) so she is used to men. She seems to like Mark a lot.

Haha! Chesney’s reaction is hilarious.

My rescue cat, Pancho, has been going out to the front porch with me to get cart loads of firewood. He’s been interested in a section that’s under a bird feeder. There’s been a wee mouse visiting there. He stayed out a while today, and when I opened the door, he tried to run in fast with something big in his mouth. I shooed him back, looked at what he had..It was a Cotton Rat! Body is about 5" long, it’s the smallest rat native to Tennessee. Anyway, Pancho had killed it and was still playing with it; so proud of himself. I was proud of him too!

Looks like Chesney has another enemy. I’m sure that squirrel had a really good reason to smack Chesney. On another note, saw three crows and two ducks while in town, and a squirrel, a golden crowned kinglet, and a wren while out walking today.
