Don’t let him wear you down, Mimieux! I am sure his singing is atrocious, and not very romantic. Hold out for a more attractive mate. Who knows, the mysterious Woof might be the one to win your heart!
That’s okay Honey, he wouldn’t be my first pick either. Now Mr. Hollingsworth…there is a real Gentleman. I don’t believe he’s ever even been on the Loading Dock!
NATIONAL DRINK WINE DAY. No, I don’t drink alcohol of any type.
NATIONAL RED SOCK DAY. I don’t have a single pair of red socks.
NATIONAL CRAB STUFFED FLOUNDER DAY. I don’t care much for seafood.
NATIONAL BATTERY DAY. Now here is one I can do. I use batteries every day! I have batteries in my TV remote, in my cell phone, in my landline phone, in my computer mouse and there’s a battery in my car. Did I miss anything?
Wow! Just an hour or so ago, I was feeding my cats their nighttime snack of canned cat food. Panther got close to me and I actually got to pet her! Four full strokes down her back before she moved away from me! But she was still close. Then while she wasn’t looking (too focused on the cat food), I crept up on her on my hands and knees and I got another 4 full strokes down her back before she moved away. I don’t think she would admit it, but I think she liked the feel of those strokes. She responded with just a tiny arch to her back. I’m not going to expect to be able to pet her every day, but this was quite exciting to me.
And I’ve given Annie’s little game with me a name. Every morning she plays her game where she rolls on the floor or rubs on my bedroom door or head butts other cats or even walks up to me and meows at me, looking for all the world like she’s inviting me to pet her. When I reach down to pet her, she quickly moves out of my reach. Not far out of reach. Just barely out of reach. I call this game “Ha Ha!” because whenever she gets away and I don’t get to touch her, I can almost hear her say, “Ha ha! You missed me!” And when I do manage to touch her, I can’t stop myself from saying, “Ha ha! I touched you!” I wonder why I didn’t say “Ha ha!” when I touched Panther a while ago? Too excited that she allowed it?
I liked Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman too. That show was funny. Poor Mary had a hard life, for sure. I would love to see that show again. I remember when Carol Burnett did a parody of it called “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary. Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary.” She looked and acted just like Mary Hartman.
ok, I wasn’t sure I was going to mention this, but, two days ago my indoor/outdoor cat went out at 10 in the morning, she usually comes back in a couple of hours, especially in this cold weather, two hours no cat. All day no cat, I look all over for her in her usual places and I can’t find her. Did not come back that night, or the next day or night. I again searched all over for her. She never leaves the property or goes near the road for over 6 years. I was devastated! I looked in the hay loft yesterday, she never goes up there. I didn’t go all the way into the loft, just looked and I thought I heard a meow, but it stopped and I thought it was from the barn below. Today something told me to go into the loft and look closer. As I get to other side, which faces the back of the property, I hear a meow and look out the netting I have up for circulation where a big door use to be. I look out and clinging to the ledge is my cat. I have no idea how she got up there unless she climbed up the outside wall! She was afraid to jump down, about 20 feet. Got my extension ladder and climbed up to get her. I thought she was gone for good. She is not dehydrated or any worse for the ware after spending two days out. Don’t know if she was somewhere else and just got up there recently or she has been up there the whole time. How long can a cat go without food and water. Well, she is not going back out for a couple days and I hope she does not disappear again, She stays in a heated and closed front part of the house which leads to going outside. I have a six yr old female, a 5 year old male and a 14 month old female in the house at the moment. She will not get along with my other female, (she does not get along with the other outside barn cats and she was born there) and my other female barley gets along with her and the other female and male, so both of them are not cats that can get along, believe me I have tried. I am glad she is back safe and sound though!
28 years ago our 3 cats & Small Terrier/Poodle mix enjoyed our classical guitar & banjo classical music duet practice. Charlie, a wonderful B&W would curl up in my plush lined banjo case. A decade before that my young son taught me valve fingering of song ‘Give My Regards to Broadway’ on a Sousaphone.
Don’t know how any cat or Mimieux would respond to Bag Pipes. But when I played them it made our little poodle terrier mix howl off key. Someone accused me of sounding like a Moose in distress during rutting season.
A tuba is definitely not the most romantic instrument. It does, however suit Chesney’s obnoxious personality quite well. (Of course, so would an accordion or bagpipes.) On another note, saw four spotted towhees and eight juncos while out walking today.

If Ches gets the tuba and tries to serenade Mimieux, would that be considered a tubal ligation?
