Today’s auction lot yielded two beautiful vases, a Turquoise Empoly with foot and a glass Leopard black and brown design. Both 18" tall. Plus a Waterford candle stick and some flotsam that went across the Street to Savers. Tomorrow I’m taking my laptop in to be cleansed. Stupid virus.
I wish my flowers could do that! I wouldn’t care what colour they are!
Smudge came home. He was really upset that I kept him inside for the night. He’s in and out right now, rubbing up against my legs and looking for petting.
Just before I left for a hair appointment yesterday morning, I got a text from Robyn at the shelter saying the man who found my fosters found another one! And, could I take it? Of course. So, I’m sitting the chair with a head full of color and I get another text with pictures of two more kittens. One is a gorgeous little grey and white tabby with blue eyes and the other is little orange one. They were stand alones. Could I take them, too? In for a penny, in for a pound, I guess.I got them later in the afternoon. I had to bring in a second litter box and it had to low for the little orange guy.
Mine, we think, are almost 7 weeks old. The tabby looks just a tad younger and smaller but it’s feisty and doesn’t take any grief from the first five. The orange one is small and just wants to be help and snuggled. Robyn had been having those two play together so we knew they were fine. The last one of the first 5 looks like Moose and he fit right in with he siblings. I waited a while to make sure there weren’t going to be any issues with EIGHT kittens and there weren’t.
This morning everyone is playing. I did put the tabby and little orange one up on the counter so they could have some wet food. I need to fatten them up because everyone has a spay date now on June 14. The big litter isn’t a problem. The tabby will be close but I don’t think the little orange one will make the two pound requirement.
As I was going into the shelter there was an older couple going out. She stopped me and said she recognized me.I had NO idea who she was. She said " You used to foster for Susan and made those kitty mats, right?" I said yes and Robyn told her that I also foster for the shelter directly. They were taking home an old cat that needed a home.
I told Susan about it and she said that was Rita – one of her other foster people.
Of course, Annie is a talented, magical gardener! She is so full of love and care, that flower couldn’t wait to be with and just had to pop up. Oddly, she doesn’t seem surprised, other than the color. I guess it happens to her often.
How about that, instant flower. If only such a thing was available on the market. On another note, saw two juncos, two robins, two rabbits, and two sparrows while out walking today.
