NATIONAL WEED YOUR GARDEN DAY. It’s my day off. And yes, I planned on weeding my garden today (if it isn’t raining)
NATIONAL SEWING MACHINE DAY. I have not done any sewing on my sewing machine in a few years. But guess what? I was planning on doing some sewing today! My lawn swing has this canopy thing that goes over it. Well, that thing has seen better days. It’s worn out and full of rips. So, I’m using a couple pieces of canvas fabric to redo the canopy, sewing it right over the old canopy. Using the sewing machine on National Sewing Machine Day! I had no idea!
My daughter was supposed to drive here today so I could see her new car and give support to each other over her half-brother’s agony (wife’s injury).
She called last night to let me know (more sad news) that her hubby’s big 17- or 18-year-old Maine C o o n (Plopper Cat) is failing – her husband was crying. We were all crying. She can’t leave hubby to face this alone – I await the phone call.
Plopper Cat has his own Facebook account if any of you care to visit.
Letting them work in a fish shop is like putting a fox in charge of a henhouse. They’ll help alright. They’ll help themselves to the store’s inventory. On another note, saw three Wilson’s warblers, three robins, a rabbit, a junco, a butterfly, two spotted towhees, and a nuthatch while out walking today.

How altruistic of them. Not a self-interested bone in their little furry bodies?

Update on my hand, finally. No bones broken, it hurts because I have Arthritis in it. Well that came as a surprise, sigh.

Hiring those two boys to work in a fish shop is like leaving a wolf to tend to a flock of sheep. Not a good plan!
