Her new iPad had taken an excellent photo of the statue she wanted to sell, but she can’t post it until she figures out which app to use to blur the prominent genitals.
Livy’s thoughts as she studied her sketch: / Now I need a large canvas to stretch. / I shall paint him in oils, / and then, after my toils, / when I sell it, how much might it fetch? /// For her model, a statue of Jove / on a pedestal, but Livy strove / to, some humor, evoke / with a caption — a joke. / Nope. My limericks are no treasure trove.
The IPad, intransigent beast/ when subjected to even the least/ pressure, creates an error./ The damned thing’s a terror../ she’s lucky she’s still ancient Greeced.
But after she painted the wretch/ the sitter commenced to kvetch/ though she thinks he’ll see clearer/ when revealed by the mirror/ which she has just sent him to fetch..
Olivia realized that sketching a nude was much harder than she thought. Her imagination seemed to run wild when it came to certain parts of the anatomy.
She decided she’d better stick to copying those drawings on the back of matchbook cover ads for art school.
I have added a comment there (already approved by Mr. Melcher) pointing to the artist info I used to point to here. So far, 8 works by this artist have been used here (6 times, including 4 works in the first strip, which was later repeated).
Sitting with the sun-bleached side of her hair facing the wall, she examined her sketch again, trying to picture what animal pelt would look even better than leopard in her latest design for “Fashions by DeVil.”
Her untutored depiction of Zeus/ would improve if she chose to reduce/ the details she attempted/ but should have exempted/ from her efforts to reproduce.
Octavia had completed enough of the connect-the-dots drawing to see that it was of Jupiter, but she couldn’t finish it until she located the dot which connected to “XCIV.”

Clara didn’t really care about the full figure of the drawing. It was a tiny detail she was focused on.
