“If the shoe fits,” thought Cindy’s step-sister, / “then I’m Mrs. to Prince Charming’s Mister.” / But try as she might, / the shoe’s still too tight, / (the sole reason he had to resist her). /// Sister two tried the contest to steal. / With a knife she lopped off her right heel. / But the blood and the gore / pouring onto the floor / caught them wise and torpedoed the deal. /// Cinderella slipped in past the guards, / donned the shoe; gave the Prince her regards. / His heart, Cindy had stolen, / but her foot became swollen / and the glass slipper burst into shards.
If this fits you my love we’ll open up a whole chain of Foot Lockers! (or) I know it’s a fetish damn you. Now try it on while I bite on this teething ring.
I’d question the wisdom of one who / picks a mate on the fit of a shoe. / Let’s face it, the lass / Who’d wear a shoe made of glass / has a larger foot size than her IQ!

According to my sainted dad, the scholarly consensus (at the time) was that the glass slipper was a mistranslation of Perrault’s (or his source’s) chaussure de vair, which would be made of (trimmed with?) mink or “fur” (also pretty implausible), not the homophonic “verre” (glass).

The stepsisters’ biggest worry was the ugly gowns they would have wear as Cinderella’s bridesmaids.

Congratulations! Your foot fits the slipper and you’ve passed the first elimination round. Now we need you to try on a few undergarments.

Immediately after Cinderella stepped into the slippers, she sent her stepsisters to work in the castle laundry room.

It fits? Great, you can be the star dancer’s foot double. (Everyone knows that dancers’ feet are ugly.)

My concern was always that dancing in glass slippers was a good way to get one’s feet cut.
