Goofus and Gallant is a comic feature in the magazine “Highlights for Children”. I remember reading these when I was young! The two boys actually never appeared in the same panel – there were always two side-by-side panels showing how Goofus (immature, irresponsible) and Gallant (mature, kind, responsible) would act in similar situations.
