Wilberforce: We met the new neighbors!
Brutus: Oh? What are they like?
Wilberforce: Nice! The wife's pretty and blond! The husband's funny and has flesh-colored hair!
Brutus: Flesh-color?
Gladys: His head is shaved!
“Phony”? Really?! You are calling a man with male pattern baldness a phony for deciding that he prefers the look of an all bald head over a partially bald head, or because society has deemed it more socially acceptable to have it shaved completely than partially bald? OK. You are right; they’re the phony ones, not the silicon laden, pumped full of steroids, Botox injected, surgically altered, fake nail wearing, hair-dyed, plucked, and waxed individuals who spend more money than they can afford on material items and physical alterations so that they can be “the best” that there is to offer and above all other competition…?
Yeah, the balding man shaving the rest of his hair off is most defiantly the “phony” in this society. Maybe people wouldn’t be so anxious to change themselves from their “natural” state if we didn’t have all of these presumptuous individuals judging them based on what those people deem acceptable.
(Chip, I apologize to you and the rest of your fans for the temporary change of tone from your otherwise humorous and entertaining one. Even considering this post, I’m still leaving here today, laughing and enjoying your strip, as always.)
