Mr. Veeblefester: Lividea, I should have known better than to invite Thornapple to play golf at the club! Lividea: Now, Rancid, did he really play that poorly? Mr. Veeblefester: Of course he played poorly - even worse than usual! But that wasn't the most embarrassing thing... Mr. Veeblefester: Would you believe, the buffoon actually wore black and white golf shoes! Egad! Lividea: There's nothing for you to be upset about - you have a pair of black and white golf shoes yourself! Mr. Veeblefester: No, no - I meant, Thornapple wore one black shoe and one white shoe!
I think I read the Born Loser because some of the things he says and does remind me of myself and/or friends.
As as aside, I would like to say that I wish Brooke McD. would open up the comment page for 9 Chickweed Lane. She has a good story going and politically, today hit the nail on the head.
