Brutus: You won't believe this - I found an erroneous charge on our phone bill... Brutus: So I called the number for the phone company on the bill. A recording answered, saying to go online to submit my question. Brutus: In other words, I can't use my phone to call my phone company to report a problem with my phone bill!

‘Online’ has been used for a long while – like logon and logoff – spell check though doesn’t recognize it – English evolves but sometimes the words accepted by the dictionary are moronic – we can blame things like Instagram and Twitter for the lack of spelling prowess now

Hence why unemployment is so stubborn to shrink.I hate talking to machines. I refuse to use those computerised checkouts at stores. I’d rather deal with people.

Not sure about phone companies but my bank and internet provider always have helpful people on the phone to assist with any problem. Then again, neither are American.
