I have a very old wire recording of a wedding ceremony that was made years ago and it’s still playable !Yes, they made wire recordings on spools of steel wire @ 78 rpm long before they made tape recorders.

Anytime I learn something from the comics, I consider that a bonus. I looked up “wire recording” and found out two very interesting facts:

    1. Standard postwar wire recorders use a nominal speed of 24 inches per second (610 mm/s), making a typical one-hour spool of wire 7,200 feet (approx. 2200 m) long.

    2. This enormous length is possible on a spool less than 3 inches (76 mm) in diameter because the wire was very fine, having a diameter of .004 to .006 in (0.10 to 0.15 mm)

Thanks to Wikipedia for the above.

I guess nowadays you could put it in the “cloud” and stream it whenever you want to.

Mother Gargle should reconsider her hatred of Brutus. After all, he will have something to say about what type of nursing home she will end up in one day.

Mother Gargle, you are an evil woman, and your comments are not amusing.
