Wilberforce, be glad your don’t live in Tennessee, kids here went back to school the first of August.

Wait until you have real work in front of you

C’mon Wilberforce, how many seconds? You can figure it out.

Funny, that’s what Brutus is counting down too!

Roughly 700 days until retirement, and counting…, more or less.

This is actually true now in real life. One day after the kids go back to school, which is September 5 or 6 this year, is when the department stores put up their Christmas decorations!

Our local kids are already there.

Got to keep track of it, don’t want school to sneak up on you.

now mom has an exact time frame till the troupes go back to school. she’s sick of them screaming they’re heads off at stupid things.

I set my computer up in Feb. 2001 to count the days, hours, and minutes until 5:00 pm on Apr. 25 2001. RETIREMENT!!!

Make that 5.. no, 4 minutes.

Love Brutus Blue and Yellow Shirts. Super color jobs. And a mighty big mug of mud ole boy.

Makes it feel longer. But also a longer looming dread.

I still count down the days till I start teaching. I also enjoy my time off just like Wilberforce…

School doesn’t start till Sept. 6, in 99% of Ontario schools.

We used to do that, like Wilber. And then there was Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter and finally, Summer vacation. Of course, nowadays kids have teacher work days or, in some areas, end of term days to look forward to.

Hey Wilberforce you realize you’re doing the equivalent of school work now don’t you? Go outside and play! Or in a more timely reference, stay inside and play video games.

Who at school said he couldn’t count?

Sounds like the reverse of the short timers calendar I kept.

Finally a good use of those math skills.

Gladys started the countdown around June.

They have a kid? (I’m new here).

Only Brutus Thornapple would, at his age, still be counting down the days until Christmas. But then only Brutus Thornapple, would, at his age, still want to sit on Santa’s lap.

Those long summer vacations beget laziness, it should be cut down to a week to speed up the education process. Course I can say that now being many years removed from going to school, for that manner years removed from going to work.

I’m counting down the days until our first possible cool front, which will probably be late October or early November, if we’re lucky.

That count down is over for me except for the school buses on the road.

I grew up in a family so dysfunctional that every moment out of the house was a blessing. Going back to school was paradise, holidays were hell.

Kid…you’re wasting the little time you have left! Go outside and have fun!

i can quit gritting my teeth when the kids go back to school tomorrow…

My grandchildren here are going Tuesday morning.
