As the garage is used for storage, the exercise bike is used to hang clothes.

Someone who owned this house before we did converted the garage into a bedroom.

The amount of room in the garage is relative to the about of limit on their cards. 4 bikes for parents and kids because that one week Mom was going to ride every evening. 2 lawn mowers but why? A weight set. A motorcycle, under cover and plugged into a battery tender. 2 kayaks. a whole other house of furniture because the daughter came back home, with 2 kids and a husband. As a home inspector I’ve seen things :)

I think of the attic as being the upstairs basement.

We don’t have a basement or garage. No, you can’t stay in the guest bedroom, you wouldn’t fit.

I wish we had a garage to even wonder about what to put in it. First world worries

There was a time where my car was parked inside my garage. Now, it stays outside.

I guess I have a double carport. There are times I wish it were a garage, but not all the time.

A chip off the old blockhead but he’s not to far off. For many, it has become the overflow storage area for the family dwelling to the point where the rental storage industry has blossomed into a major industry arot the country…..

The opening into my attic, from the garage, is too small to put much of anything up there.

Or a downstairs attic? If Wilberforce thinks that (presumably because of the junk stored there) how does Brutus get the car in the garage? Funny how this topic has struck a chord with so many folks Chip – 178 comments yesterday!!!!!

We have 2 cars with a double car garage. Occasionally we’ve had to keep them out while the garage becomes a temporary storage facility. Our insurance gives us a discount because we have a garage to park them in

So it’s gotten to the stage that next generation doesn’t even know what a garage was originally for.

Brutus is smart, a car is usually a person’s second most costly purchase and the garage should be used to protect it from things like weather and theft.

Maybe tomorrow we can thoroughly confuse Wilberforce when Brutus shows him the attic.

In the worst of winter here, which is really bad, I still need to walk. I can leave my dry garage and drive to a mall that has a parking structure. I can then go inside and walk, having never really been exposed to the elements. That way, I can also dress for indoors, with a warm jacket thrown in the backseat, just in case. I can even remotely start and warm up my car, if I want to. No way am I not taking advantage of an attached garage.

Build a car port and gain another storage room for the wife’s shoes and other useless junk to make her happy. A happy wife = a happy life.

The best thing about a garage is when it’s pouring rain.
