Last panel, above Brutus’s head…, What a precious little snowflake. Or maybe it’s just an imploded thought balloon. I am glad to see that Brutus works clean. If Mort Walker were running the show, there would be more than just an ✽ .
Maybe Brutus drank too much antifreeze before going out and was just enjoying being outside alone. Brutus, Your tea is a little dark. That’s because it’s bourbon.
A pathway out is still a pathway out; where were you when he started to stray; and lastly, 50 ft from the house entrance to the sidewalk is pretty long…..
Brutus as long as you make it to the front sidewalk what difference does it make, but when you shovel the front sidewalk try to stay out of the street.
having just got 10 inches of lake effect snow, i grabbed my trusty show shovel and headed from the steps … in a ‘straight’ line, down towards the sidewalk..a good 60 feet or so… and although i kept a great pace and was sure i was on the straightest line…when i got to the side walk and turned around to look at my great straight line shoveling … i saw a crooked path that most drunken sailor’s would have been proud to walk ….

If you don’t like the way Brutus is doing it, Gladys, then do it yourself.

Poor Brutus. I’m feeling sorry for a comic character!

If the shovel encounters grass, you know you have veered off.

You’d think he would have noticed when the walk turned green.

In English… walk is a verb… and here’s no such thing as a front yard…

If Brutus is sweating, as shown in the fourth panel, then he would have icicles hanging of his head.

Gladys is the sidewalk “superintendent” ….if she’s so worried, then, Gladys needs to get out there and help him find his way….

Brutus likely pitched the snow from the front lawn onto the sidewalk. Poor Brutus.

He’s got a pretty impressive walk there.

That’s just like you, Gladys, when a guy is doing the heavy lifting, criticize and exaggerate, as well.

Brutus what are you doing shoveling? Where’s the old battle axe? Second thought don’t clear walkway to keep her from coming.

As long as he ends up at the street so you can get out, Gladys, it’s all good.

Better to walk on the lawn than the icy walkway.

He knows that. He’s just trying to create a space for Kewpie to relieve himself!

Brutus does not have a sense of direction in the snow……..
