That sounds like my life.

Sofa not so good

Since you are the only person that has a job in the family, it was your lost money…the found gas bill is another story

In Italy we say: “the house does not steal but hides”.

Years ago, my wife and I were getting out of the car at a restaurant. On the walk in front of me was a $20 bill. I reached over and picked it up and immediately my wife snatched it out of my hand and said “that’s mine, I saw it first.” We still laugh about that almost 50 years later.

Been there done that.

Poor Brutus. His money doesn’t even slow up when it gets to him, let alone reside in his wallet.

I like finding money. Even if it is my own ;)

So your bill is now only $100 with the offset AND you now realize you have to pay your bill and might be able todfo it before you get a second overdue bill and possible accessed penalty. Lucky guy…..

You should have quit when you were ahead.

There’s a chance you’ve already paid the overdue bill since the unpaid balance would have been included in the next bill, but being the born loser probably not.

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Gladys hid the bill there for Brutus to find. Otherwise, who puts bills to be paid under sofa cushions?

When I count to three and snap my fingers, you will wake up Brutus. Just a bad dream.

brutus more than anyone should know that any unexpected windfall is always immediately offset by a greater unexpected expense… ☺

I would say, “Easy come, easy go”, Brutus, but given who you work for, it’s not so easy come. The “easy go” part, however, still applies.
