All those years of loyal service mean to Veblefester is that you aren’t smart enough to get a different job.

    ….but who’s counting?

Sometimes promotions are more work with the same pay…..☹️

Sounds like a failure of leadership. Lift up your employees.

Brutus – Veblefester is just a con man. You need to con him. Take a month’s sick leave. If he calls wanting you to return soon, you are needed. No call no need.

If dog years are 7 human years how many would Rancid years be – at least 10? So he’s been there over 200 Brutus years!

Promotions should not be based on time served in a job. Brutus should be showing leadership skills. Am I being too logical here? I think Brutus should be getting something just for staying in that job with bossman, but I am unfortunately not in charge. I suspect Brutus actually likes his job.

All my overtime for one month (we did 18 hour days, 7 days a week, for 31 days) over many years is too much to calculate. Needless to say, I retired after 38 years in that career. Maybe it was more like 45 after all the OT?

I was still enjoying my job when I was twenty five in, almost had 35 but I woke up one day and told myself I was done with it.

It’s not about the time spent, but the results delivered. Anyone can punch a clock.

Odd, the bag of money on the Boss’s desk is smaller the bags on the floor.
