Does no one know what an octothorp is? I believe the symbol for pound is L with a bar through it.

Think about all of the graffiti you have seen. I am sure there were curse words. In comics, curse words are represented by “* @ # &.” To all others Please be nice, I was only explaining, not cursing!

The L with a bar through it (i.e. £) is the sign for unit of currency known as the British pound.

While the # symbol is known as the octothorpe, it’s probably more commonly referred to as the pound sign by the general public. It’s also known as the number sign, or the hash character.

Scott doesn’t know his asperand from his ampersand.
