Once they graduate to middle school, they’ll have enough grit in their gizzards to “chew” their own food without an adult having to regurgitate it.It’s a proud moment for all Avians . . .
All birds normally reguritate food to their young, and many choose to do that with their mates (I’ve noticed that even with wild birds). My parrots like "chewed up food from the blender or just soft like oatmeal, and warm is prefered. My cockatoo liked clam chowder with normal diced celery and potatoes, and could chew up the baby clams, but my little timneh is much smaller and prefers baby food consistency.

I always liked the way pelicans regurgitate the food their young ones get.
