I can’t get a line on what’s going on.

They’ll all get rubbed out.

Time to sharpen them.

Their presence is pointless.

Wow, for a guy who doesn’t have a pair of glasses lying next to him, that pencil looks pretty dead.

Get the point??

They don’t stand a chance – it’s the pen that’s mightier.

These boys are 9xxBs by the end of the day they will be 9H

Rookies…they’re all here to defend the Empire, but No.2 is soft, and the third one is named Richard.

These Fort Ticonderoga cadets can’t even draw a line on the enemy.

They’re not a real combat unit.Sarge is a pencil pusher!

The new recruits are a bunch of pencil necks.

Pencil necks… and bodies.

This cartoon is pointless!

They’re not very sharp.

The Sarge will sharpen them up, with the help of Shorty, his No.2.

Their strategy is sketchy and their tactics aren’t filled in.

What a dull bunch these new guys are. Let’s send some out to take the point. That ought to sharpen them up, if they don’t snap.

A worthless bunch—always needing to go No. 2.

No use trying to tape the broken soldier (never worked for me in grade school, I never considered the eventual sharpener.)

They are not new draftees. They’ve been penciled in.

Rookies are not to sharp ;)

At least they learned about rubber on the wood when going in.

No point in them joining the battle.
