"The Talk" is so much easier for parents in the comics.
Little boy: Pa, where did I come from?
Man: Well, son, when a man and a woman love each other, a cartoonist takes a pen and draws a baby.
Does anybody remember the “Dick van Dyke” episode where Richie asked where he came from? His parents start on this convoluted description, when Richie interrupts and says, “Sam at school says he came from Pittsburg. Where did I come from?”Whew!
A brave few might draw a bulge before they draw the baby, but nothing regarding five months before or four after. Jump Start is about the only one to cover the inside story.

You didn’t have to tell him Dad, he would have drawn his own conclusions.

A couple of more years, and he’ll be playing with his pencil. .(I think that kid was a mistake. Dad thought he was just doodling.)

Well son, when a man and women get really drunk and the cartoonist is mean … he draws them a baby too.

I never had that talk…… by the time I was ready to ask, I’d already heard it all at school.
