I think it’s a reference to a number two edition of a comic book. At least I hope it is.
For those uninitiated in “Trek” lore, ‘number 2’ refers to the officer 2nd in command ie: Lt. Will Riker in Next Gen. The ‘red shirt’ refers to the mortality rate of new characters wearing red shirts.
