Reminds me of the only broken bone I’ve ever had. Exactly 30 years ago this Friday I took the family to the local sledding hill. I just had to try my son’s brand new GT Racer. The hill was solid ice and I was screaming down so fast I thought I was going to hit the fence at the end of the run so I jammed on the “These are not brakes” and immediately flipped over and broke my ankle.
I once when sledging with a piece of wrinkly steel, plastic bags over my shoes and another one over my head with the front torn out, not my finest hour!
Yeup, went to the local farmer’s field and, thankfully, Bob bent his head down just in time or the barbed-wired fence would have scalped him. He ended up in the crick (“creek” to you Philistines LOL). At the other farmer’s field, Todd slid off just in time for his sled to end up in the pond, to which we found years later during a drought. Fun memories.

Gee whiz, what kind of fences do they build out there? I was looking forward to prime rib roast on New Year’s Day!
