Strod, I wish I had an answer for you. I went back and looked at the scans of the strip, and that little line is in the scan. I don’t recall drawing it.

It would have been hilarious, if we could still see the tattoos on Eddies face today.

That, gentlemen, is a Dailies/Sundays issue. I file Sundays two month in advance, and I’m expected to file Dailies one month in advance (though I seem to be chronically behind) The month difference leads to a disconnect between Sundays and Dailies. And, since the Dailies and the Sundays are offered to newspapers separately, we’re expected the Sundays to stand alone as gags for folks that don’t see the day-by-day funnies.

Greg – you could follow Thom Blumel’s lead, and hide faces in the comics! (See BirdBrains on here.)
