There are two cures for ‘teen’. You either outgrow it or you die.Toby seems to be tempting death.

“Because I want a piece of cake now in addition to the big honkin’ slice after dinner. .And I know that if I ask for a piece now, Mom will say No, because you’ll ruin your dinner. .And I know that is not true because I’m Toby, the Bottomless Pit: I can eat a piece of cake now, devour everything at dinner, and have the big honkin’ slice, and I still won’t be full!”

My grandmother’s favorite store was about when my mother did this to a cake she’d baked for church when my mom was only 3. She assured my grandmother “just cwums, mommy, just cwums.”

Toby went about this all wrong. He is to cut the cake in half, then take out a slice and push the cake back together. (I think I saw that on the 3 Stooges?). But that would require thinking and Toby won’t be able to think until he’s much older..His current method means Sarah will go “oh no!” and throw out the entire cake. Then there’s no dessert. And Eddie will be most disappointed. .But will he squeal on the older sibling?

Thats the thing about brothers / sisters – the younger version usually learns from your own idiotic mistakes and grows smarter from it :).
