So if he has fecal matter on his hands, a squirt of purell to smear it around is as good as washing ? Don’t think so. This is the same logic as irradiating food, you sanitize contaminated food instead of just not contaminating it in the first place.

The petting area at my zoo has both a hand wash and sanitizer station.

Apparently, we’re not supposed to use hand sanitizer as it’s creating “super bugs” or something…

Most hand sanitizers use isopropyl alcohol, which can dry and crack the skin,. These cracks can allow bateria to enter thru otherwise healthy skin.

I understand Larry. When I have used hand sanitizer – I still want to at least rinse the hands. Just to get rid of the sanitizer. .@ Number Six – I have seen that! Gross! Ewwwww!

Allan – that’s the antibiotic soaps, not the hand sanitizer.

I thought that petting zoos were REQUIRED to have a place to wash one’s hands. We have been to a really small one at an outlet store and ones at festivals that are a temporary setup and there is always a place to wash one’s hands.
